Huestar

Huestar is a Star Battle logic puzzle set in stained glass. The board is divided into colored regions, and you place one star in every row, column and region. Stars can never touch, not even at the corners. Every board has a single answer, and logic alone gets you there: no guessing, ever. A solver program checked every board from start to finish before it was added to the app. There are no lives to lose either, so take all the time you like.

Key Features

Rules and controls The board is done when every star is in place; filling in all the dots is optional. Tap a cell to cycle empty, dot and star. Drag across empty cells to dot several at once. Undo has no limit, and a whole drag is undone in one step.
Hints that give the reason Tap Hint and the cells worth studying light up, with a label naming the technique at work, such as Full line or Confined region. Tap again to see which cell takes a star or a dot, and why. A wrong star or dot is pointed out first. A hint never relies on your dots, so a misplaced dot can't throw it off. Hints never run out.
Light through glass Each region is a pane of colored glass held by thick lead lines. Give a region all its stars and it lights up like glass catching the sun. Finish the board and two waves of light sweep across it before pieces of colored glass scatter over your result. Turn on Reduce effects to calm everything down, or switch motion, light and glass pieces off one at a time.
Records For each level, boards solved, fastest and average time and Perfect boards; for Daily, the current and longest streaks plus a calendar showing the days you solved. Only boards solved without hints can earn a Perfect stamp or set a fastest time.
Easy to read, easy to touch Boards always fit the width of the screen, so there is no zooming or scrolling. Prefer tap for a star and long-press for a dot? Switch the controls in Settings. Auto dots fill in the cells around each star and in full rows, columns and regions, and rule conflicts show the moment they happen, with rings and stripes as well as color.
Region patterns Region patterns, in Settings, lay a different line pattern over every region for when colors are hard to tell apart. Colors that look alike in red-green color blindness are kept off neighboring regions wherever possible.
A six-step tutorial A short guided 5×5 board teaches the basics in six steps. Skip it any time, or replay it from Settings.
Offline play No account, no login, and your records stay on your device. The game works without an internet connection, Daily included.
Multilingual English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), following your device language or your choice in Settings.
Free to play The only ad is one slim banner at the bottom of the screen. There are no full-screen ads and no in-app purchases.
